About Us

The Maazi Dibia Cultural Foundation is a cultural, educational and research organization dedicated to the preservation, documentation and promotion of Igbo culture, civilization, indigenous knowledge and heritage.

We believe that the knowledge, philosophy, values, language, spirituality, arts, traditions and social institutions developed by generations of Igbo people are an important part of humanity's intellectual and cultural heritage. Our work seeks to document this knowledge, encourage serious research and create opportunities for present and future generations to understand, preserve and develop it.

Through research, cultural documentation, education, media, community programmes, lectures, publications and international cultural engagement, the Foundation creates platforms for exploring Igbo history, philosophy, Odinaani/Omenaani, Afa, indigenous knowledge systems, language, arts, traditional institutions and contemporary Igbo identity.

We are particularly interested in examining the impact of colonialism and other historical transformations on indigenous institutions and knowledge, while encouraging informed cultural recovery based on research, documentation and critical inquiry.

Our vision is not simply to preserve the past. It is to connect ancestral knowledge with contemporary life, encourage a new generation of researchers and cultural practitioners, and contribute to a broader understanding of African indigenous civilization.
